About the Teacher

       Hi!  Welcome to McCormick Elementary School Kindergarten!  My name is Laurie Stuart and I have been teaching at MES for many, many years!  I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, Montessori Primary (3-6 year olds), 4 year old Kindergarten and 5 year old Kindergarten. I love teaching and expect that all children will learn if given the opportunity to explore their world.

 

      I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop University, a Master's degree in Elementary Reading and Math from Walden University and a Master's degree in Montessori Education from Chaminade University of Honolulu.  I also have a Montessori Primary teaching certificate from Montessori Educational Programs International and am Notional Board Certified as an Early Childhood Generalist.

 

In my spare time, I enjoy travelllng, spending time with my niece and nephews, and reading.  I also like auctions and antiques.
